Gandalf stromcrow

Quest
The fellowship of the ring is a group of people set out on a quest to destroy evil. This epic journey takes us through the lands of middle earth from the deepest valley of Rivendell where Elrond the elf lord dwells to the fortress of orthanc where Saruman the white (also a traitor) lives. This quest in not a small task and there never is much hope, only a fools hope. Gandalf you could say is a demi god has come back to life. He is blessed from the gods (valar) with new life. This is because it is his task to fight Saroun in the war of the ring. If he fails the world as they know it will end. Frodo has the most important task of them all. He alone must destroy the ring of power. The ring that Saroun the dark lord forged himself from the fires of mount doom. "this task is appointed to you, Frodo of the sire. If you can not do it no one can" From the words of the lady of lorien Galadriel herself. This makes Frodo find the strength to continue. This is not the only thing that gives him strength. Sam gamwise Frodo’s loyal friend, gardener and companion walk beside him every step of the way towards the goal Mordor. The one place in middle earth they do not want to see and the one place they are trying to get to. Aragon, Legolas and Gimili is meets Gandalf in the forest of Fangorn and there they set out to edoras to talk to the King. This is because Rohan is ready to fall and without Rohan good can never defeat evil. Mary and pippin stays with the shepherd of Fangorn "tree beard" They are the small stones in an avalanche. In this way all people of the fellowship even if they are divided moves to the same goal and still have the same quest.

Odds
The odds are against them all the time. For instance Saruman has betrayed the free folk of middle earth and they don't have the power to stand against both Mordor and Isengard. The evil force presses their advantage and Rohan is the first target. There is one thing they don't know. The ring stays hidden and that they seek to destroy it is not in their wildest dreams. The quest stands on top of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fall for the ruin of all. When the people of Rohan flees to helms deep Gandalf rides of o find more Rohirim and when the battle of helms deep is almost lost Gandalf arrives with aid and saves the day. Frodo and Sam Find a strange creature "gollum or smegol" depending which one of his personality he is. Gollum is the evil one and Smegol the nice one. Gollum is obsessed with the ring and he lives on his lies and tricks. Frodo and Sam know this but they have no guide and of course Smegol know they way. So they have no choice but to trust him. Fortunally gollum mad a promise on the "precious" (the ring) that he would not harm them and show the way. Against all odds he leads them where they want but can they really trust him or is this one of his tricks?

Creation
Gandalf is over three thousand years old and he was around when Arda (middle earth) was created by the "Ainur". Ainur is the correct term of the gods (Valar) they could choose between elf form and god from. They all had different forms depending on their powers. They "master god" is called Iluvatar and he created the Ainur in his thoughts. There are 14 valar but now only 13 because Melkor (later referred as Morgoth) is not accounted one of the valar because of his betrayal. He tried to rule Arda himself and kill the other valar. The most powerful of them all is Melkor and after him is Manwë who is the king of the valar. Melkor created powerful companions known as "Maiar" among them is all the Balrogs and dragons, but most powerful of them all is Sauron. Manwë then created the eagles because he wanted to see what Melkor was doing. And so Melkor created darkness. The darkness would be impenetrable by all eyes from above. He built Barad dur (the black fortress of Mordor) and lived there. Melkor grew in power and so the valar had to make Maiar of their own. Manwë created Olorin "Gandalf" and like the valar the Maiar could choose from but ones they have chosen physical form they could not change back. Olorin was not the only good Maiar. All the wizard of the Istari is valar. Some more powerful than others. The Maiar could feel the power of other Maiar and identify their powers. No one was able to see what power Olorin had but they felt that is was great. Olorin still in his invisible form wonder to the halls of grief where Nienna lived (the valar of grief) there he learned much about grief and pity. All of the 5 wizards were send to Arda to defeat Saroun. The wizard then chose to get in their human forms. The two blue wizards failed their quest and likely died or joined Sauron. Little is known of them. Radagast the brown, Saruman the white and Gandalf the grey fought evil for many hundred years. Radagast was the least powerful of the three but still very powerful nonetheless. He lived in Mirkwood "an elven forest" And did not contribute very much or even at all in the war of the ring. Saruman betrayed they people on joined Sauron. Gandalf alone was the one wizard left to fight evil. Gandalf is called many different names some are Olorin, Mithrandir, The white rider and Gandalf. Gandalf falls in battle with one of the Balrogs, the last one probably. And so there are none left to fight Sauron. Hope is almost lost. Then Gandalf is blessed by the valar to relive his life as a new person. "Gandalf the white" He is now the most powerful Maiar ever existed but not more powerful than Sauron. Now hope is back and no time can be spared for middle earth doom is about to be decided. Gandalf is the only wizard to return to Valinor. (The land west of middle earth) This is the undying lands and there Gandalf stayed forever because when the ring of power was lost his quest was done and he could return.

Why i choose these words.
Quest
this is because the whole series of books are moving toward this quest and it is these 8 people that will make middle earth to peace or doom. They fate of all lies in the hands of one small hobbit. Like I said before though the Fellowship is divided, they still have the same quest.

Odds
The odds is against them all the time in the book and them manage to survive every peril somehow and that is what makes them thrilling. I think that J.R.R Tolkien was crazy. I really do because the world that he created is too big to imagine. There are so many different story s and names of people and things. Almost every character has at least 3 names take Aragorn for example. Ellesar, flame of the west, Wingfoot and Strider. These are only a few. To have to written this down you have to be a little crazy.

Creation
Gandalf is so important an there is so much history about him so I had to explain (briefly) about the creation of the world and Gandalf. I should add that Gandalf has one of the three elven rings of power. That means that Eldron, Gandalf and Galadriel have a direct contact to each other’s thoughts. I really hope you understand the last word. I have read the simarillion (the book where the valar is created) and I have read facts on wiki hundreds of times but I still don't understand everything. I know it's kind of blurry but I think you can manage the get something out of it.  The World is actually created by music from the valar. I have no idea what was going on in Tolkien’s head but I can assure you he was insane.

Olorin

The two hobbits frodo and sam are lost in the mountains between rohan and gondor. They are feeling that they are beeing watched by someone and they can smell it from miles away. It t´turnes out that it is gollum and he tries to attack them in their sleep. He fails and the capture him. after a while gollum promises to show they way to teh hobbits and so he does. After many days of walking they come to the dead marshes. There frodo almost dies from drowning. Now there is nothing between them and mordor. When they arrive to can se that the black gate of mordor is inpenetreble and then they ask gollom if there is another way. First he doesen't want to answer but after some time he says that there is a way. This way however is past Minas murgul. (onece a great fortress of the elves, then called minas ithil but the witchking of agmar made it his own a long time ago) Frodo and sam has no idea what dangers now laies ahed of them but they will soon find out. After a while gollum wants to get rid of sam because he always keeps one eye on frodo and the other on gollum. All gollum wants is the ring and he will stop at nothing to get it. You have to remember that bilbo, Frodos cousin stole the ring from gollum. (Frodo often refers him to his uncle but he is in fact his cousin) Gollum takes out the last lembasbread and ripps it apart, leaving some breadcrums on sam shoulders. When they wake up in the moring and are going to eat breakfeast the food is gone and sam has some crums on his coat. A big fight starts and it end with gollum saying he dosen't eat elvish food. (wich is true) And then Frodo says to sam that his part in the story goes on and sam turns back and returns home. After a while though he finds the bread and decides to go back and help Frodo.
First of all im sorry this post was so short , but i really despice talking about Frodo. He is so boring and most of the time they just talk nonsens. This part is really important though so I think that is the reson why every part in theese chapters are just the same in the movies. You know when you see one of the three films every week at least you get tired of Frodo and sam always nagging. I wont deny that I cried at the last movie a few times and that Frodos scens are very powerfull but they sort of loose their charm after 20 times. Just joking I would never in my whole life get tierd of anything that has with Tolkien to do. I do however like the other scens better.
